Upcoming Performance
Emmaly Wiederholt and Malinda LaVelle met in 2007 in San Francisco while trying to "make it" as "groundbreaking" contemporary dance artists. They burned that dream bright and fast, living and dancing together for several years before moving on to other schemes. Now they are back in the same city, this time Albuquerque, trying to figure out what the hell happened in San Francisco.

"Removed" (2015-2016)
A collaborative research journal by ten dancers of Project Thrust, spread out across the world, who had all been involved with the company's previous projects in San Francisco, CA; some since the company’s inception in 2009. Between 2013-2015, these dancers experienced different forms of removal in their lives – either literally or metaphorically. Via Skype and email, Project Thrust explored the scope of removal and its many forms. The research aimed to defy the notion that a choreographer and group of dancers must physically be in the same place in order to remain creatively engaged. Research from this project ended up informing much of the content in "Cover Girl." Dancers Emmaly Wiederholt, Angela Mazziotta, Carson Stein, Emily Jones, Eric Garcia, Joy Prendergast, Julia Hollas, Kelvin Vu, Maggie Stack, Madelyn Biven Thank You Thank you to the collaborators for their curiosity and heartfelt research. |
